Biography : she is a Head of the Department of Environmental Sciences of the Jožef Stefan Institute and a Head of the Ecotechnology programme of the International Postgraduate School Jožef Stefan. Her main expertise is in the area of analytical chemistry in food, environment and health research with a focus on trace metals analysis and speciation. She has been an author and co-author of over 200 SCI journal articles with over 4500 citations and several book chapters related to the development of analytical methods in areas of food research, characterization and identification of contaminates sites, biogeochemical cycling of toxic metals in terrestrial and aquatic environment, toxic metals in industry and biomonitoring as part of the exposure assessment of humans and ecosystems. She is a coordinator of the EU ERA Chair ISO-FOOD and the twining project MASSTWIN, both related to the novel analytical techniques used in human biomonitoring programmes. She coordinates the implementation phase of the national human biomonitoring programme, she was a WP leader for training in COPHES and a national contact point for DEMOCOPHES project.
